Stevens Seeds is an independent grain & seed company based on the Canterbury Plains. Peter Stevens applies a hands on philosophy in respect to all crop monitoring and agronomics to ensure the best performance, yield & cleanliness of all crops grown and sold.
Stevens Seeds have two main areas of business expertise:
1. The importation of overseas varieties that are grown locally then exported back to the plant breeder, this cuts years off the time from conception to the market place and maximises two harvests in one year.
2. Their own proprietary cultivars that are suited to New Zealand’s climate and have tremendous advantages in terms of palatability and yield for stock grazing. They have been very successful in feed competitions with cultivars proving their worth both locally and internationally. These proprietary cultivars are available through a number of independent resellers bringing the best to their farming clients at a good price.
Stevens seeds also have access to all common varieties as well as proprietary cultivars from fellow companies and offers seed mixing, fertilizer and chemical sales, water divining, arranging soil and seed testing and an advisory service.
